When my son was diagnosed prenatally with Tetralogy of Fallot, our world changed overnight. The fear and uncertainty that came with his condition were overwhelming. Yet, through this challenge, a powerful story of hope and giving emerged. This is the story of how my son's journey with a complex heart defect led to the creation of a nonprofit that delivers cards to children in hospitals, spreading comfort and connection when it is needed most.

Understanding Tetralogy of Fallot and Its Impact
Tetralogy of Fallot is a rare congenital heart defect that affects the structure of the heart, causing oxygen-poor blood to flow out to the body. It involves four key heart abnormalities that require surgical intervention early in life. For families like ours, the diagnosis brings immediate concerns about survival, surgeries, and long-term health.
CJ has had multiple surgeries and will need lifelong care. Each hospital stay was a mix of hope and anxiety. The medical staff were incredible, but the sterile environment and isolation from the outside world weighed heavily on him and on us as parents.
Finding Strength in the Struggle
During those long hospital stays, we noticed how much a simple gesture could brighten a child's day. A colorful card, a kind note, or a drawing from a stranger brought smiles and a sense of connection. CJ always loved receiving cards from family and friends during his recovery. This inspired us to think bigger. What if we could create a way to deliver these moments of happiness to many children facing similar challenges? What if we could build a community that supports hospitalized kids through heartfelt messages?
The Birth of a Nonprofit
With that vision, we founded a nonprofit dedicated to delivering handmade cards to children in hospitals. Our mission is simple: to bring hope, encouragement, and a reminder that they are not alone.
How the Card Program Works

The Power of Hope and Connection
My son’s journey with tetralogy of Fallot was filled with difficult moments, but it also opened the door to something meaningful beyond our family. Every card sent is a reminder that even in the hardest times, children deserve to feel loved and supported.
